Feathers

Here is the first prayer flag that I have completed.  It is 6"x10 1/2".  There is a sleeve for hanging at the top.  I hand stitched and machine stitched this one.  I hope to get more of them completed this weekend.
Have a great weekend,

Mono-printing

I spent some time last week working on mono-prints.  These are mostly going to be the base for prayer flags.  The smaller ones are printed on an old tablecloth and the larger ones on muslin.

Next I will add stitching, words,  and maybe more paint to some of these.  I also need to a hanging pocket to the top of them.  I will post more pictures as I make some progress.
Have a great week,
Janelle

Summer of Color

Here is my art for Watermelon Ice.  The first piece that I made was a cloak for my niece for her birthday.  Her favorite color is red, so it fit in just perfectly for this week.

I also made a small quilt for the week.

The last thing that I made was a journal page.

I am going to miss the summer of color challenge.  Even though life has been busier than normal this summer I have enjoyed participating immensely.  I have just had to sneak in my art time some of the weeks.
Have a great week and enjoy creating.

Summer of Color

I finished my wild-n-reckless inspired art.  I love this color combination and had a lot of fun with it.
My first piece is a quilt.  It is bigger than any of the other quilts that I have made this summer.   It measures about 12" x 11 1/2".

The next piece is an abstract painting in my journal.  I may add more to this page at some point because it isn't really a finished piece, but rather me just playing with the colors.  I had to add some black and white for contrast as well.  I took a poor picture, but when the light is better I can add a good picture.

Summer of Color

This week the color is Strawberry Lemonade Punch.  I finished a couple of pieces, but I didn't get my quilt finished because we had a storm that knocked out our power.  This happened just when I had the time to finish the quilt.  I will be able to get it done soon and post it.  I will show my finished pieces anyway.
The first piece is another sketch that was colored with Prismacolors.
I wanted to practice a whimsy owl, so here she is in strawberry lemonade colors.
My next piece is in my journal.  It is an acrylic painting with some collage.
I hope that this week finds you well and happy.
Keep creating.
Janelle
I have mostly finished my quilt, so I'm adding that picture here.
