I took a photo and applied three filters to get different looks. In one I added canvas texture, another is the watercolor filter, and the last is a sponge filter. I did all of these in Photoshop.

Just wandered over from the link you sent out on FB. Very cool journal. It'll work great as an online portfolio too! Have you looked into opening an etsy or other online store for some of your more... random projects?
So far I am just making gifts for other people. I want to get better and build up a supply before I try to sell anything. I also have to figure out all the business aspects like pricing first.
